Każdy z Was na pewno ma zespół, do którego lubi wracać od lat. Raz na jakiś czas zdejmując z regału płytę, by znów ją zajeżdżać godzinami, a następnie ponownie odłożyć na honorowe miejsce. Dla mnie taką płytą jest Destructo Evangelia szwedzkiego zespołu DAMNATION, który niestety od dawna pozostaje martwy i nie ma co liczyć na jego wskrzeszenie. Pierwotnie powstał jako hołd dla BATHORY. Jego skład tworzyło trio muzyków, którzy udzielali się w bardziej znanych zespołach, by wspomnieć tylko o PEST, ENTOMBED, NIFELHEIM, DARK FUNERAL czy DISMEMBER. W dyskografii tej thrash / black metalowej załogi znalazło się nie wiele pozycji, ale za to wszystkie są prawdziwymi klejnotami na scenie ekstremalnego metalu. Znajdziemy tu demo, EP oraz album, o którym poniżej znajdziecie więcej informacji. Na wczesnym etapie działalności pojawiła się też taśma demo z próby, jednak ten materiał jest raczej nie do zdobycia.
Destructo Evangelia to album, który ukazał się w 2004 roku, dzięki Threeman Recordings oraz Candlelight Records USA. Zawiera on osiem utworów i trwa równe czterdzieści minut, których po prostu nie da się odczuć, bo przy dźwiękach jakie wyczarował DAMNATION nie da się nudzić. To umiejętne połączenie thrash metalu z black metalem, który tworzy bardzo surową i mroczną formę. Dźwięki te dosłownie porywają słuchacza i rozrywają na strzępy. Prócz tego album przyciąga ciekawym klimatem, pierwsze dźwięki jakie płyną z głośników po włączeniu krążka to grzmoty podczas burzy, co daje już pewien niepokój, później pojawiają się niezwykle jadowite gitary, które swoimi riffami kaleczą głęboko niczym ostre narzędzie chirurgiczne. Do tego ta piwniczna surowość okraszona jest solówkami, które tak mocno kojarzą się z dokonaniami BATHORY, że nie ma tu złudzeń, jaki zespół był kultem dla muzyków, którzy wykreowali dźwięki na tej płycie. Poza gitarami warto zwrócić uwagę na perkusję, która brzmi niczym wybijany rytm, nawołujący do wielkiej bitwy. Najbardziej ciekawy jednak jest wokal, który wpasowuje się w stylistykę pomiędzy latami 80 a 90, a właściwie łączy tę stylistykę. To jakby coś pomiędzy growlingiem, a skrzekiem, bardzo ciężko zaszufladkować ten głos. Jednak ta chropowatość, brzmiąca jakby pochodziła ze starego grobu, nadaje mu niesamowitej oryginalności. Tempa jakie tu się pojawiają są głównie średnie, czasami wolne, ale wszystko to wchodzi jak dobra wódka bez popijania. Drugi numer w tym materiale to utwór Insulter Of Jesus Christ, który pojawił się już na wcześniejszej EP i jest nawet jej tytułem. Jednak na albumie jest on nagrany od nowa, co z pewnością będzie dobrym zaskoczeniem dla fanów. Znalazły się tu również dwa covery: pierwszy to cover Volcano, a drugi Bathory (Armageddon), który może i nie brzmi lepiej niż oryginał, ale całkiem dobrze się tego słucha. Destructo Evangelia, to dla mnie pozycja obowiązkowa, a Wy sami zdecydujcie, czy chcecie poszukać tego zacnego dzieła.

Each of you certainly has a team that you like to come back to for years. Once in a while to take the record off the shelf to run for hours again and then put it back on the honorable place. For me such a record is Destructo Evangelia of the Swedish band Damnation, which unfortunately has been dead for a long time and has no hope of being resurrected. It was originally created as a tribute to the BATHORY. Its line-up consisted of a trio of musicians, who gave themselves in more famous bands, just to mention PEST, ENTOMBED, NIFELHEIM, DARK FUNERAL or DISMEMBER. The discography of this thrash/black metal crew does not include many items, but they are all real gems on the extreme metal scene. Here you will find a demo, EP and the album, about which you will find more information below. There was also a demo tape from the rehearsal at an early stage, but this material is rather unattainable.
Destructo Evangelia is an album that was released in 2004, thanks to Threeman Recordings and Candlelight Records USA. It contains eight tracks and lasts forty minutes, which simply cannot be felt, because with the sounds conjured up by DAMNATION you cannot be bored. It's a skillful combination of thrash metal with black metal, which creates a very raw and dark form. These sounds literally captivate the listener and tear him/her to shreds. Apart from that, the album attracts with its interesting atmosphere, the first sounds that flow from the speakers are thunder during a storm, which gives a certain amount of anxiety, then extremely venomous guitars appear, which with their riffs cripple deeply like sharp surgical instrument. In addition, this cellar rawness is accompanied by solos, which are so strongly associated with BATHORY's achievements that there are no illusions about what kind of band was a cult for the musicians who created the sounds on this album. Apart from guitars, it is worth paying attention to the drums, which sound like a pounding rhythm, calling for a great battle. However, the most interesting is the vocal, which fits into the style between the 80's and 90's, or actually combines this matter.It's like something between a growling and a screams. But this roughness, sounding as if it came from an old grave, gives it an incredible originality. The tempo that appears here is mostly medium, sometimes slow, but it all comes in like good vodka without having the afterdrink. However, it is re-recorded on the album, which will surely be a good surprise for the fans. There are also two covers: the first one is a Volcano cover and the second one is Bathory (Armageddon), which may not sound better than the original, but you listen to it quite well. Destructo Evangelia, this is a must-have for me, and you decide whether you want to look for this noble work.
