Debiutancki album Amerykanina wgniótł mnie w glebę i sponiewierał mocno. Cholera, taki Death Metal w bardzo klasycznej formie i oddający hołd starej Florydzie, to ja rozumiem. Tim Rowland, który odpowiada za wszystko, co dane jest nam tu usłyszeć, zaskoczył mnie swoimi pomysłami i charkternością muzyki prezentowanej przez ALCHEMY OF FLESH. Projekt powstał w 2019 roku, ale wpierw działał jako Chopping Mall, następnie jako Sculpted Horror, by wreszcie przybrać obecną nazwę. W dyskografii znajdziemy dwa single oraz debiutancki album o którym zaraz sobie opowiemy.
"Ageless Abominations" to absolutny worship Morbid Angel. Oczywiście, nie znajdziemy tu tak pokręconych riffów, a tym bardziej solówek jakimi ozdobił to dzieło Trey, ale atmosfera i struktury utworów odwołują się zdecydowanie do trójeczki morbidów. Byłbym niesprawiedliwy zawężając muzykę na debiucie ALCHEMY OF FLESH do jedynie hołdowaniu bogom Florydzkiego Death Metalu. Znajdziemy tu również sporo riffów rodem z wczesnych materiałów Monstrosity czy Hate Eternal. W zwolnieniach odnajdziemy echa wielkiego Incantation i kurwa mać - jeśli to nie wystarczy komuś za świetną mieszankę udanego albumu Death Metalowego, to nie wiem czego dana osoba oczekuje! Album przede wszystkim poraża świetną dynamiką i nie ma co ukrywać, że jest to Death Metal eksponujący na pierwszym planie grę gitar. Mimo, iż automat perkusyjny jest zaprogramowany tak, że trudno stwierdzić czy przypadkiem to sam Tim nie gra za zestawem beczek, tak mimo wszystko moje skupienie kieruje się ku gitarom. A tu naprawdę dzieje się sporo. Świetne riffy, często mieszające techniki rytmiczne wraz z melodyjnością tremolo, która jest złowieszcza i bije od niej pewna złośliwość. Gitary często przechodzą też na dwa kanały i usłyszymy riffy w różnych tonacjach. Do tego dochodzą świetne wokale - growle, charyzmatyczne i ma się wrażenie, że to sami Przedwieczni wyrzygują te liryki. Właśnie, "Ageless Abominations" jest nacechowany grozą wprost z literatury Lovecrafta. Jest mimo wszystko tajemniczy i coś siedzi skryte w tych dźwiękach... Cholerna moc, nieokiełznana i czekająca by rozpętać chaos! Absolutnie polecam!

The debut album of the American dented me in the ground and fucked me up badly. Damn, such Death Metal in a very classic form and paying homage to the old Florida, I can understand that. Tim Rowland, who is responsible for everything we can hear here, surprised me with his ideas and the charateristics of the music presented by ALCHEMY OF FLESH. The project was formed in 2019, but first it worked as Chopping Mall, then as Sculpted Horror, and finally took its current name. The discography includes two singles and a debut album which we're about to talk about.
"Ageless Abominations" is an absolute worship of Morbid Angel.Of course, we won't find here such twisted riffs, and even more so solos with which Trey adorned this work, but the atmosphere and song structures definitely refer to Morbid Angel. I would be unfair to narrow down the music on ALCHEMY OF FLESH's debut to just a tribute to the gods of Florida Death Metal. We can also find here a lot of riffs straight from the early material of Monstrosity or Hate Eternal. In the slowdowns we can find echoes of the great Incantation and for fuck's sake - if that's not enough for someone to have a great mix of a successful Death Metal album, then I don't know what that person expects! First of all, the album shocks with great dynamics and there is no denying that this is Death Metal that exposes guitar playing in the foreground. Despite the fact that the drum machine is programmed in such a way that it's hard to tell if it's not Tim himself playing behind the set of drums, my focus is still on the guitars. And there really is a lot going on here. Great riffs, often mixing rhythmic techniques together with tremolo melodicism that is ominous and beats with a certain malice. The guitars also often switch to two channels and we'll hear riffs in different tonalities. On top of that there are great vocals - growls, charismatic and you have the impression that it's the Great Old Ones themselves who puke out these lyrics. Exactly, "Ageless Abominations" is full of dread straight from Lovecraft's literature. It is nevertheless mysterious and something is hidden in these sounds... Damn power, uncontrollable and waiting to unleash chaos! I absolutely recommend it!
