Australijski PUNCTURE WOUND to pięciu maniaków zapatrzonych w staroszkolny Death Metal. Są aktywni w undergroundzie od 2016 roku i na swoim koncie mają EPkę, dwa single i omawiany właśnie debiutancki album. Jak widać ich album ukazał się we wszystkich z możliwych formatów i to jakoby też stanowi o potencjalnej potędze materiału. Czy tak faktycznie jest? Zacytujmy zatem klasyka "Let's find out!".
Dziesięć utworów jakie znalazły się na "Complete Carnage of Coagulating Cacophonous Corpses" zamyka się w niemal 37 minutach, a czas spędzony z tą muzyką płynie szalenie szybko. Nie wiem jak pozostałe wydania, ale wersja CD została wzbogacona o dwa dodatkowe utwory - jeden remix oraz utwór z debiutanckiej EPki, ale nagrany ponownie w 2019 roku. Bez jakiejkolwiek wątpliwości stwierdzam, że w utworach dzieje się całkiem sporo. Nie ma czasu na nudę, a wszyscy ci, którzy są wygłodniali starego dobrego Death Metalu nie będą zawiedzeni. PUNCTURE WOUND skłaniają się według mnie nieco w kierunku starego Sinister, aczkolwiek to tylko jeden z wielu elementów układanki. Duży plus należy się realizatorowi dźwięku, bo pomimo iż album brzmi potężnie, nie jest przekombinowany w szczególności jeśli mowa o ścieżkach perkusji. Wielokrotnie ta kwestia w dzisiejszych czasach leży i materiały z silnie triggerowanymi beczkami po prostu wkurwiają. Na albumie Asutralijczyków wszystko siedzi jak należy i przede wszystkim współgra z resztą instrumentów. Riffy gitar zajebiście mielą swoje, miażdżąc i torturując słuchacza bez chwili wytchnienia. Bardzo dobre przejścia z tłumionych rytmicznych partii na melodyjne tremolo, które swą chorobliwością dodaje tylko brutalności. Całkiem ciekawe solówki, będące bez wątpienia udaną ozdobą poszczególnych utworów i nie wpływające na obniżenie ciężaru muzyki. Bas jest równie dobrze słyszalny, nadając wymaganą dynamikę. Wokalnie mamy tu jednakowe growle na dobrym poziomie, które przypominają mi stare demówki. Nie wiem czy to był zamierzony efekt, ale takie mam skojarzenia i oczywiście nie jest to zarzut w kierunku zespołu. Podsumowując - bardzo dobry album do którego miło będzie wracać. Album, który nie odkrył nic nowego na polu Death Metalu. Album, który to na ołtarzu Death Metalu złożył ofiarę i wypatroszył ją... A potoki krwi wpłynęły same.

Australia's PUNCTURE WOUND are five maniacs steeped in old school Death Metal. They have been active in the underground since 2016 and have an EP, two singles and the debut album just discussed. As you can see, their album has been released in all possible formats and this supposedly also accounts for the potential sheer power of the material. Is it really so? Let's quote the classic "Let's find out!".
Ten tracks on "Complete Carnage of Coagulating Cacophonous Corpses" are almost 37 minutes long, and the time spent with this music goes by very quickly. I don't know about the other releases, but the CD version was enhanced with two extra tracks - one remix and a track from the debut EP, but recorded again in 2019. Without any doubt I can state that there is quite a lot going on in the tracks. There is no time for boredom and all those who are hungry for good old Death Metal will not be disappointed. PUNCTURE WOUND are, in my opinion, leaning a bit towards the old Sinister, although it's just one of many elements of the puzzle. Big credit goes to the sound engineer, because despite the fact that the album sounds powerful, it is not overdone, especially when it comes to the drums. In many cases this issue is done badly in today's times and materials with strongly triggered drums simply piss you off. On the Asutralians' album everything works as it should and, above all, harmonizes with the rest of the instruments. Guitar riffs are fucking grinding, crushing and torturing the listener without a moment's rest. Very good transitions from toned down rhythmic parts to melodic tremolo, which only adds to the brutality with its morbidity. Quite interesting solos, which are undoubtedly a successful highlight of each track and do not lower the heaviness of the music. Bass is equally well audible, giving the required dynamics. Vocally we have here the same growls on a good level, which remind me of the old demos. I don't know if it was an intended effect, but I have such associations and of course it is not a reproach towards the band. To sum up - a very good album which will be nice to come back to. The album didn't discover anything new in the field of Death Metal. The album that sacrificed on the altar of Death Metal and gutted it... And the streams of blood flowed by themselves.
