Kiedy w moje ręce wpadło najnowsze dzieło HELL-BORN, które popełnili wraz z OFFENCE, niesamowicie ucieszyła mi się morda. Pamiętam ten dzień, zupełnie jakby to było wczoraj, kiedy ukazał się pierwszy album HELL-BORN, to było sto procent diabła w muzyce i aż się wierzyć nie chce, że minęło już od tamtej pory dziewiętnaście lat. Przez ten czas skład zespołu ulegał zmianie i obecnie w jego szeregach znajdują się Baal Ravenlock, Les oraz Diabolizer, który jest znany między innymi z THRONEUM, MORBID WINDS i wielu innych kapel. HELL-BORN ma w swojej dyskografii pięć albumów, jedną EP i dwa splity, z czego ostatnim jest ten z OFFENCE - czyli bytomskim tworem uderzającym w death metal. Zespół ten istnieje od 2011 roku, a jego skład tworzą muzycy znani z takich zespołów jak BRÜDNY SKÜRWIEL, EXHALATION, WITCHFUCK. Zanim przejdę do recenzji tego materiału, wspomnę we wstępie, że ukazał się on w wersji winylowej jako siedmiocalowa EP oraz na CD, gdzie pojawiły się dodatkowo utwory koncertowe - i taką właśnie wersję nagrania męczę w odtwarzaczu.

Spoglądając na okładkę Hellbound Hearts od razu odnoszę skojarzenia z kultowym horrorem Hellraiser. Mroczna postać trzyma w dłoniach kostkę, po jej poprawnym ułożeniu otwierają się wrota do wymiaru, w którym cierpienie przechodzi w chorą ekstazę. Wśród utworów również znajdziemy nawiązania do tego znanego filmu. Na płycie znalazło się łącznie dziewięć utworów, z czego pierwsze cztery należą do HELL-BORN, a reszta do OFFENCE. Otrzymujemy solidną dawkę death metalu i chociaż może nie jaram się tym nagraniem jak wczesnymi wydawnictwami, to jednak jest to obowiązkowa pozycja, którą każdy maniak ciężkiego grania powinien mieć na półce. Dostajemy tu solidne riffy, wzmocnione zabójczymi solówkami, które wbijają się w pamięć niczym haki filmowego Hellraiser'a w skórę, tylko po to by ją zerwać i zadać niewyobrażalny ból. Perkusja zapierdala tu tak jak trzeba, słychać, że przyłożono się w studio podczas rejestrowania dźwięku. Wielkim pozytywem jest również wokal, który, wyrzyguje piekło growlingiem to jest zrozumiały, dzięki czemu ta płyta jest odtwarzana w kółko. Co do strony OFFENCE, również jestem zadowolony z odsłuchu. Riffy gitar nawiązują dość wyraźnie do thrash metalu, co nadaje tej muzyce świetnej dynamiki. Lubię takie nawiązania do różnych gatunków metalu, to sprawia, że materia muzyczna nie jest nudna. Wokal jest bardziej wściekły niż w HELL-BORN, ale również jest zrozumiały. Jak dla mnie największym minusem są te dodatkowe koncertowe utwory, które brzmią jakby ktoś nagrywał je dyktafonem ukrytym w gaciach. Muzycznie wyszło dobrze, nie mam nic do zarzucenia, tylko jakoś to brzmienie... Jakbym włączył sobie muzykę w drugim pokoju i słuchał przez ścianę. To taki minus, który jednak można wybaczyć bo pomimo tego, że trochę marudzę, to i tak słucham całości ile tylko się da.

When I got my hands on the latest HELL-BORN work, which they committed together with OFFENCE, I was incredibly happy and my faced turned with grotesque smile. I remember that day, as if it was yesterday, when the first HELL-BORN album was released, it was a hundred percent devil in music and I don't want to believe that nineteen years have passed since then. During this time the band's line-up has been changing and nowadays its ranks include Baal Ravenlock, Les and Diabolizer, who is known from THRONEUM, MORBID WINDS and many other bands among others. HELL-BORN has five albums, one EP and two splits, the last of which is the one with OFFENCE - a Bytomian creation hitting death metal. This band exists since 2011 and its line-up consists of musicians known from such bands as BRÜDNY SKÜRWIEL, EXHALATION, WITCHFUCK. Before I go to the review of this material, I will mention in the introduction that it was released in the vinyl version as a seven-inch EP and on CD, where there were also some concert songs - and this is the version of the recording I am torturing myself with the CD player.

When I look at the cover of Hellbound Hearts, I immediately get associations with the cult horror movie Hellraiser. The dark figure holds the cube in his hands, after it is correctly positioned, the door opens to the dimension in which suffering turns into sick ecstasy. Among the songs we can also find references to this well-known film. The album contains a total of nine tracks, the first four of which belong to HELL-BORN and the rest to OFFENCE. We get a solid dose of death metal, and although I may not be overwhelmed by this recording like early releases, it's a must have item that every heavy-playing maniac should have on the shelf. Here we get solid riffs, reinforced with killer solos, which stick in the memory like Hellraiser's hooks into the skin just to rip it off and inflict unimaginable pain. The drums are fucking right here, you can hear that the studio work was done amazingly. A great positive thing is also the vocal, which, it pours the hell out of the growling it is understandable, so that this record is played over and over again. As for the OFFENCE side, I am also satisfied with the listening. Guitar riffs refer quite clearly to thrash metal, which gives this music great dynamics. I like such references to different kinds of metal, it makes the musical matter not boring. The vocal is more furious than in HELL-BORN, but it is also intelligible. As for me the biggest minus are those additional concert songs that sound as if someone is recording them with a recorder hidden in their pants. Musically, it worked out well, I have nothing to blame, only somehow this sound... It's like turning on the music in the other room and listening through the wall. It's such a minus, which can be forgiven because despite the fact that I'm a little bit whiny, I still listen to the whole thing as much as I can.
