Wątpię by był tu ktokolwiek, kto nie zna tej formacji. KORGONTHURUS, jeden z czołowych jak dla mnie przedstawicieli Black Metalu z Finlandii, w tym roku wydali nowy, trzeci album. Jednakże, jako że nie miałem jeszcze okazji słyszeć "Kuolleestasyntynyt", postanowiłem się cofnąć do drugiego pełnego albumu Finów "Vuohen siunaus". Kilka razy przesłuchałem winyl i zabrałem się za opis przy kolejnym odsłuchu.
Skupię się na chwilę na wizualnej otoczce albumu. Okładka jest po prostu niesamowita, tak samo jak dołączony do tego pięknie wydanego gatefoldu plakat będący oczywiście powiększeniem obrazu zdobiącego front "Vuohen siunaus". Łeb kozła unoszący się nad skupioną postacią w trakcie rytuału, oko wewnętrznej iluminacji, opary z czaszki owiewające postać będące zapewne energią / emanacją rytualną... Dodatkowo okładka jest utrzymana w czerni i bieli czyli jak najbardziej old schoolowo. Muzycznie KOGONTHURUS jak zawsze nie zawiódł. Black Metal serwowany przez tą ekipę to po prostu majstersztyk! Utwory są normalnej długości, ale pojawiają się też prawie siedmio minutowe hymny oraz zamykający "L.U.X." mający czternaście minut. Pomimo zróżnicowania album jest wiedziony spójną myślą kompozycyjną i nie słychać niepotrzebnie wkradających się udziwnień. Z drugiej strony nie można też powiedzieć, że album jest monotonny. Wręcz przeciwnie - w utworach dzieje się sporo, ale nie ma tu śladu przekombinowania. Utwory do bólu są naszpikowane emocjami i poza oczywistą, ziejącą nienawiścią, usłyszymy również echa żalu, rozpaczy, pogardy. Riffy gitar są podzielone na dwie sekcje, następujące po sobie bądź współistniejące: melodyjne i gra akordami. Słucha się tego wybornie, a przede wszystkim materiał jest niesamowicie mizantropijny. Ten jad aż wypływa z głośników... Brzmienie "Vuohen siunaus" jest bardzo dobre, czytelne, ale jednocześnie nie zapomniano o brudzie gitar i basu. Perkusja, mimo triggerów na centralkach jest bardzo organicznie brzmiąca i to naprawdę robi wrażenie. Nad wszystkim królują wspaniałe, silnie skrzekliwe wokale będące jak dla mnie ozdobą tego materiału. Cholera, "Vuohen siunaus" pomimo energii jaka z niego bije, autentyczności oraz przekazu - jest totalnie chora i odpychająca. Świetny materiał, który trzeba po prostu mieć.

I doubt there's anyone here who doesn't know this band. KORGONTHURUS, one of the leading representatives of Black Metal from Finland as far as I am concerned, released their new, third album this year. However, as I haven't had a chance to hear "Kuolleestasyntynyt" yet, I decided to go back to the Finns' second full length album "Vuohen siunaus". I've listened to the vinyl a few times and started to describe it at the next listening.
I'll focus for a moment on the visual surroundings of the album. The cover is simply incredible, just like the poster attached to this beautifully released gatefold, which is of course an enlargement of the image decorating the front of "Vuohen siunaus". The head of the goat hovering over the concentrated figure during the ritual, the eye of inner illumination, the fumes from the skull that are probably the ritual energy/emenation... Additionally, the cover is kept in black and white as old school as possible. Musically, as always, KOGONTHURUS has not failed. Black Metal served by this team is simply a masterpiece! The songs are of normal length, but there are also almost seven-minute anthems and the closing "L.U.X." with fourteen minutes. Despite the diversity, the album is driven by a coherent compositional thought and you don't hear any unnecessary sneaking in. On the other hand, one cannot say that the album is monotonous. On the contrary, there is a lot going on in the songs, but there is no trace of over-combination. The tracks are full of emotions and apart from the obvious, evoking hatred, we will also hear echoes of regret, despair, scorn. Guitar riffs are divided into two sections, consecutive or coexisting: melodious and playing with chords. You listen to it deliciously, and above all, the material is incredibly misanthropic. This venom is flowing from the speakers... The sound of "Vuohen siunaus" is very good, clear, but at the same time the dirt of guitars and bass is not forgotten. The drums, despite the triggers on the drum kicks, are very organic and this is really impressive. Everything is dominated by magnificent, strongly larkening vocals which are, as for me, the decoration of this material. Damn it, "Vuohen siunaus" despite its energy, authenticity and message is totally sick and repulsive. A great material, which you just have to have.
