Są zespoły, których przedstawiać nie trzeba, ciągle działające w głębokim podziemiu metalowego świata. Do takich zespołów zalicza się fiński AZAZEL, który od 1992 roku niesie czarny sztandar śmierci zatruwając scenę swoją muzyką. Wydawnictwa może i nie ukazują się jakoś często, ale to bardzo konkretne materiały, które swoim brzmieniem jeńców nie biorą. Przez skład przewinęło się wielu muzyków, których można skojarzyć z udziału w wielu innych bardziej lub mniej znanych zespołach takich jak chociażby BARATHRUM, GOATMOON, SIGYN, SATANIC TORMENT i jeszcze wielu innych. W dyskografii znalazły się trzy albumy oraz trzy mniejsze wydawnictwa, w tym split z GOATMOON.
Całkiem niedawno ukazał się najnowszy album AZAZEL - noszący tytuł Aegrum Satanas Tecum. Na krążku tym upchano osiem utworów o łącznym czasie trwania wynoszącym nieco ponad trzydzieści pięć minut. To, z czym się tu stykamy nie jest przyjemne. To bardzo szorstka muzyka, która wymierza kolejny cios w fałszywego boga i zrzuca go z tronu i depcze na krwawą miazgę. Materia muzyczna doskonale radzi sobie w średnich tempach, udowadniając, że nie trzeba nie wiadomo jak zapierdalać by wyszło surowe, obskurne i pełnie nienawiści dzieło. Dźwięki są bardzo gęste i mroczne. Tu nie ma niczego pięknego, to esencja najczystszego zła zamknięta w ponad półgodzinnym rytuale. Poziom agresji sięga tu niemal zwierzęcego zenitu. To najbardziej pierwotne zło ukazane za pomocą dźwięków. Jednak patrząc na poprzednie dzieła, to materiał na nowej płycie jest znacznie wolniejszy niż na ostatnim krążku, ale to akurat nie jest minus, ponieważ w tej muzyce jest sto procent diabła. Riffy gitar są bardzo mięsiste i oparte w dużej mierze o sekcję tremolo, ale nie brakuje tu również sekcji rytmicznej. W pewnym momencie zostałem zaskoczony gitarami na czystym kanale, co tylko sprawiło, że album na pewno zapadnie w pamięci - z resztą i tak nie mam zamiaru kończyć na kilku przesłuchaniach. Pojawiają się też solówki gitarowe, mocno wrzynające się pomiędzy riffy. Bas dodaje ciężaru i dynamiki, a perkusja nadaje dzikości i agresji dokładając sporo prędkości, a do tego słychać świetne przejścia na bębnach. Wokal jest bardzo obskurny, gardłowy, wpadający w niski skrzek. Kojarzy się z robactwem pełzającym pod skórą, którego nie da się wydrapać. Ten album może i nie będzie płytą roku, ale wcale nie musi nią być, aby kręciła się ona ciągle w odtwarzaczu. Od siebie nie pozostaje mi nic innego jak polecić ten materiał każdemu maniakowi black metalowych melodii.

There are bands that need no introduction, still active in the deep underground of the metal world. Finnish AZAZEL is one of those bands, who have been carrying the black banner of death since 1992, poisoning the scene with their music. The releases may not come out often, but they are very concrete materials, which do not take prisoners with their sound. Many musicians passed through the line-up, who can be associated with participation in many other more or less known bands such as BARATHRUM, GOATMOON, SIGYN, SATANIC TORMENT and many others. Their discography includes three albums and three smaller releases, including a split with GOATMOON.
Quite recently, the newest album of AZAZEL was released - entitled Aegrum Satanas Tecum. On this album, eight tracks of a total duration of just over thirty-five minutes were crammed in. What we are dealing with here is not pleasant. It is very harsh music, which strikes another blow at the false god and throws him off the throne and tramples him to a bloody pulp. The musical matter works well in medium tempos, proving that you don't have to work extra hard in speed in order to produce a raw, squalid and hateful piece of music. The sounds are very dense and dark. There is nothing beautiful here, it's the essence of the purest evil closed in over half an hour long ritual. The level of aggression reaches here almost animal zenith. This is the most primal evil shown by means of sounds. However, looking at the previous works, the material on the new album is much slower than on the last one, but it's not a minus, because there is one hundred percent of devil in this music. The guitar riffs are very meaty and rely heavily on the tremolo section, but the rhythm section is not lacking either. At one point I was taken aback by the guitars on the clean channel, which only made the album more memorable for sure - the rest of which I have no intention of finishing on a few listens anyway. There are also guitar solos that pop up, firmly cutting in between the riffs.The bass adds weight and dynamics, and the drums add ferocity and aggression by adding a lot of speed, and you can hear great transitions on the drums. The vocal is very obscure, throaty, falling into a low squeak. It resembles vermin crawling under the skin, which cannot be scratched out. This album may not be the album of the year, but it doesn't have to be in order to keep it in the player. From my side I can do nothing else but recommend this material to every maniac of black metal melodies.
