Pochodzący z Kalifornii, San Diego, PUTRID TOMB jak bardzo łatwo można wywnioskować z samej nazwy para się Death Metalem. Jest to dopiero dwuletni twór i poza opisywaną EPką, chłopaki mają na swoim koncie jedynie demo z 2019 roku. Najważniejsze jednak w tym wszystkim jest to, że nie poddają się i brną dalej naprzód. Nie ma co się oszukiwać - takich zespołów jak ich są obecnie tysiące. Ale czy to powinno kogokolwiek zniechęcać lub martwić? Nie sądzę. Grają bardzo porządną muzę i maniacy Death Metalu zagranego na starą modłę powinni się o nich dowiedzieć.
Pięć utworów jakie nam przyszło tu odnotować to naprawdę kawał klasycznego grania. Naprawdę nie wiem jaka moc drzemie w tego typu produkcjach, ale nie sposób jest się od nich oderwać. Raz włączona leci kilkanaście razy i pomimo olbrzymich stosów zalegających do odsłuchu, nie mam chęci by przerywać ten rytuał. Zaczynając od brzmienia, które jest wielce organiczne i w żaden sposób nie jest ugłaskane komputerowymi trikami (w szczególności brzmienie perkusji, cudo!), nie sposób popaść w zachwyt, że jeśli się chce to można nagrać naprawdę dobrze brzmiący kawał muzyki. Tym bardziej będąc tak młodym jak nasi muzycy, to należy docenić! Death Metal jaki nam sprezentowała ta trójka jest niczym nowym, ale właśnie w tym tkwi szkopuł! Świetne kompozycje, mieszające w sobie stylistykę wczesnych lat '90-tych zarówno sceny florydzkiej oraz fińskiej. Poniekąd można się tu też doszukać co nieco patentów, które można dopasować do debiutu Gorguts. Jednakże, te skojarzenia są wyłącznie celem naprowadzenia czytelnika na trop, czego się może spodziewać po PUTRID TOMB. Cztery z pięciu utworów to typowe mięso o niskim stroju i jeszcze niższych wokalach. To właśnie te ostatnie podpowiadają osobę Ch. Barnsa z czasów świetności. Niskie growle przeplatane czasem wysokimi krzykami - czy to nie brzmi znajomo? Zaryzykuję też stwierdzenie, że podobnie się mają sprawy jeśli chodzi o partie basu. Linie tego instrumentu gdy są wypuszczone i pozostawione same sobie, bardzo przypominają wyczyny Alexa Webstera. Czego by się nie doszukiwać bądź jakie to skojarzenia same by się nie pojawiały - jednego można być pewnym. Chłopaki zajebiście czują tą muzykę i to słychać. Riffy gitar na poły techniczne z wzorową dawką rytmiki, powodują głowa sama zaczyna się bujać w takt muzyki. PURTID TOMB osiąga różne prędkości w utworach i nie stroni od żadnych. Znajdziemy zatem i ultra szybkie fragmenty, ale też grobowe zwolnienia. Do wszystkiego są zgrabnie wplecione solówki, nie męczą i mam wrażenie, że chciałbym ich słuchać jeszcze więcej. Absolutną ozdobą tej EPki jest czwarty utwór "Comatose (Soul Psychosis)" w całości wykonany na gitarze akustycznej. Coś, kurwa, wspaniałego! Poszukajcie tego materiału i sami oceńcie. Niestety obecnie sprawdzenie czegoś spoza UE jest bolesne finansowo przy nowych regulacjach podatkowych, ale może jakiś label zrobi wersję Europejską tej EPki? Byłoby dobrze.

Hailing from San Diego, California, PUTRID TOMB as you can very easily deduce from the name itself plays Death Metal. This is only a two-year old creation and apart from the described EP, the guys have only a demo from 2019 to their credit. The most important thing in all this, however, is that they do not give up and keep going forward. Well, there's no fooling themselves - there are thousands of bands like them nowadays. But should that discourage or worry anyone? I don't think so. They play very decent music and Death Metal maniacs should know about them.
Five tracks we can listen to here are really a piece of classical Death Metal music. I really don't know what power lies in this kind of productions, but it's impossible to stop listening to them. Once turned on it flies a dozen or so times and despite the huge piles lying around to be listened to, I have no desire to interrupt this ritual. Starting with the sound, which is very organic and in no way smoothed over with computer tricks (especially the sound of the drums, wonderful!), it is impossible to fall into delight that if you want to, you can record a really good sounding piece of music. Being so young as our musicians, it has to be appreciated! Death Metal that the three of them presented to us is nothing new, but that's the point! Great compositions, mixing styles of early '90s both Florida and Finnish scene. In a way, you can also find here some patterns that can be matched with Gorguts' debut. However, these associations are only to guide the reader on what to expect from PUTRID TOMB. Four of the five tracks are typical meat with low tunes and even lower vocals. It is the latter that hints at the Ch. Barns persona of their glory days. Low growls sometimes interspersed with high screams - doesn't it sound familiar? I'll also risk a statement that things are similar when it comes to bass parts. The lines of this instrument, when released and left to themselves, are very reminiscent of Alex Webster's exploits. Whatever you might be looking for or whatever associations might come up - one thing is certain. Guys feel this music in a fucking fantastic way and you can hear it. Half-technical guitar riffs with an exemplary dose of rhythm make your head sway to the rhythm of the music. PURTID TOMB reaches different speeds in the tracks and does not avoid any. Therefore we will find ultra fast fragments, but also sepulchral slowdowns. To everything there are neatly woven solos, they do not tire and I have an impression that I would like to listen to more of them. An absolute highlight of this EP is the fourth track "Comatose (Soul Psychosis)" performed entirely on acoustic guitar. Something fucking great! Seek out this material and judge for yourself. Unfortunately it is financially painful to get something from outside the EU these days with new tax regulations, but maybe some label will do a European version of this EP? That would be good.
