Powstały w 2012 roku Australijski Salvation, dosłownie kilkanaście dni temu zakończył działalność. Noctarth w oficjalnej wypowiedzi ogłosił, że to co chciał z tym projektem osiągnąć już osiągnął i to by było na tyle. Pierwsze co wprawiło mnie w dość mocne zdziwienie to zestawienie muzyki z tym co mamy na okładce. Owszem, poniekąd jest to nawiązanie do niektórych dzieł pogańskiego Black Metalu, ale wydaje mi się, że jednak chociażby podobne zdjęcie ale zrobione nocą bardziej oddałoby klimat. Mniejsza jednak z tym, daleko mi do kupowania płyt ze względu na ich szatę graficzną, chociaż, gdyby nie fakt, że wydawca jest Dark Adversary Productions, wątpię bym sięgnął po owe wydawnictwo nawet online. Cóż, lekcja na przyszłość wyciągnięta. A więc z czym przyszło nam się tu zmierzyć? Otóż mamy tu Black Metal, bardzo solidny i przepełniony emocjami. Przede wszystkim jest tu spora dawka surowizny, ale daleka od tego co obecnie serwują nam labele pokroju Black Gangrene. Brzmienie nie ociera się o hałas bądź kakofonię, a nie z rzadka przy monumentalnych klawiszach jest po prostu czytelne jak cholera. Nie oznacza to, że SALVATION pozbywa się brudu, nic podobnego. Aranżacje aż kipią syfem, totalną czernią i mizantropią! A mimo tego jest w nich miejsce na kult Natury. Muzycznie bliżej tu Pogańskiemu Black Metalowi niż nienawistnemu łomotowi bądź stęchłej piwnicy, ale zaznaczyć należy, że całość jest zrobiona z dużym gustem i niezaprzeczalnym hołdem dla wczesnych lat '90tych. Świetna melodyka, ale nie brakuje też ostrych cięć, mocno topornych. Kompozycje są proste, riffy pozbawione wirtuozerii, a partie bez przesterowanych gitar z pulsującym basem nader przypominają kultowy Fleurety i ich "Min tid skal komme". Genialne połączenie! I tak jak u Norwergów, tak i tutaj Noctarth zadbał o świetne brzmienie basu, którego głęboki puls i wibracje nadają materiałowi wyjątkowości. Przy szybkich Black Metalowych prędkościach zespół przypomina połączenie starego Darkthrone i Gorgoroth. Natomiast gdy pojawiają się klawisze - no nie ma bata - Graveland, Iuvenes i podobne skojarzenia natychmiast biora górę. Wokalnie jest wszystko według reguły - skrzeczące wrzaski idealnie pasujące pod całokształt. Nie można się na tym albumie zawieźć. Dodam tylko, że limit 200 sztuk.

Australian Salvation, formed in 2012, ended its activity literally a few days ago. Noctarth in his official statement announced that what he wanted to achieve with this project he already achieved and that would be all. I wonder if he will create another project or if this is the end of his journey in the music underground... The answer for this question will probably be possible to give in some time, but for now we should be rejoicing our black minds with another so good album.
The first thing that made me quite surprised was the juxtaposition of the music with what we have on the cover. Yes, in a way it's a reference to some works of Pagan Black Metal, but I think that a similar photo but taken at night would reflect the atmosphere better. Anyway, far be it from me to buy albums because of their graphic design, although, if it wasn't for the fact that the publisher is Dark Adversary Productions, I doubt I would reach for this release even online. Well, lesson learned. So what have we got to deal with here? First of all, there is a good dose of Black Metal, very solid and full of emotions. Primarily, there is a large dose of raw material here, but far from what labels like Black Gangrene are serving us nowadays. The sound does not rub against the noise or cacophony, and with monumental keyboards on rare occasions it is clear as hell. It doesn't mean that SALVATION gets rid of the dirt, nothing like that. The arrangements are boiling with filth, total blackness and misanthropy! And yet there is a place for the cult of Nature. Musically it's closer to Pagan Black Metal than to hateful thrash or musty basement, but it should be noted that the whole thing is done with great taste and undeniable homage to the early '90s. Great melodics, but there are also some sharp cuts, very rough ones. The compositions are simple, the riffs are devoid of virtuosity and the parts without overdriven guitars with pulsating bass are more than reminiscent of the cult Fleurety and their "Min tid skal komme". A brilliant combination! And just like with Norwegians, also here Noctarth took care of the excellent sound of the bass, whose deep pulse and vibration give the material its uniqueness. At fast Black Metal speeds the band resembles a combination of old Darkthrone and Gorgoroth. However, when the keyboards appear - there is no way - Graveland, Iuvenes and similar associations immediately take over. Vocally is everything according to the rule - screeching screams perfectly matching the whole. You cannot be disappointed with this album. I will only add that the limit is 200 copies.
