I oto kolejny twór Death Metalowy, który rozwalił mnie absolutnie na samym starcie. Debiutancka EPka, którą MUTATED wydało w zeszłym roku, po prostu zabija. Nie znalazłem informacji kiedy zespół powstał, ale kiedy by to nie było, materiał jaki znalazł się na tej kasecie to świetna rzecz. Tak więc bez zbędnego przedłużania wstępu na który dzisiaj nie mam pomysłu, zapraszam do recenzji MUTATED.
"Human Scourge" to Death Metal nie wybiegający stylistycznie na boki, trzymający się utartego schematu, ale robiący to wręcz wyśmienicie! Zacznijmy od tego, że ten pochodzący ze słonecznej Kalifornii duet serwuje, moim zdaniem, naprawdę wyjątkowo dojrzały kompozycyjnie Death Metal. Trzy konkretne utwory, pozbawione blastujących partii, trzymające się środkowych temp, uderzają z wielkim impetem! Ciężar brzmienia połączony z tym nieco mozolnym aranżem EPki wgniata i dusi niczym zaciskające się ręce oprawcy na szyi słuchacza. Bardzo, ale to bardzo całość tej muzyki brzmi jak po nagraniach pod ręką Scotta Burnsa z Florydy w jego osławionym Morisound. I pomimo tego, że materiał jest dość wolny, to właśnie ten ciężar robi swoje. Słuchając "Human Scourge" nie oczekuje się przyspieszeń, technicznego łamania gryfów i ociekającej krwi z rąk perkusisty. Nie. Tutaj mamy nastawienie na systematyczne rozwalcowanie słuchacza, zrzucenie go w otchłaniczne jaskinie i torturowaniu go w wyrafinowany, aczkolwiek standardowy sposób. Gitary pracują głównie w sekcji tremolo przeplatając się z fragmentami rytmicznymi. Przypomina to bardzo spotkanie tuzów: Massacre, Death, Morbid Angel i trochę debiutu Gorguts, zanim ci stali się bardzo techniczni. Pojawiające się solówki są doskonałe, słychać w nich jawne obycie z instrumentami. Bas bardzo podbija dynamikę brzmienia, ale gdzie należy, zaznacza również dolne rejestry pogłębiając ciężar zwolnień. Linie aranżacyjne perkusji trzymają się idealnie tej muzyki. Przede wszystkim praca tego instrumentu nie narzuca więcej samego grania niż to potrzebne, bez zbędnej dominacji nad pozostałymi instrumentami. Wokale to niskie growle, które okazjonalnie przechodzą w krzyk. Wyborność!
Niecierpliwie czekam na kolejny krok Amerykanów i mam nadzieję, że nastąpi wkrótce. Niedosyt jaki pozostawia "Human Scourge" jest gigantyczny, a MUTATED niech spina dupsko i nagrywa kolejne smakowite, śmiertelne mutacje.

And here is another Death Metal creation that blew me away absolutely right from the start. The debut EP that MUTATED released last year simply kills. I couldn't find any information on when the band formed, but whatever the case may be, the material on this cassette is great stuff. So without further ado on the introduction, for which I have no idea today, I invite you to the MUTATED review.
"Human Scourge" is Death Metal that doesn't stray from the stylistic side, sticks to the established pattern, but does it in an excellent way! Let's start from the fact that this duo from sunny California serves, in my opinion, a really mature Death Metal in terms of composition. Three solid tracks, devoid of blasting parts, sticking to the middle tempos, hit with a great impetus! The heaviness of the sound combined with the somewhat mundane arrangement of the EP crushes and suffocates like a torturer's hands tightening on the listener's throat. Very, very much all of this music sounds as if recorded by Scott Burns from Florida in his famous Morisound. And despite the fact that the material is quite slow, it is this weight that does its job. Listening to "Human Scourge" you don't expect accelerations, technical breaking of guitar fretboards and dripping blood from the drummer's hands. No. Here we have an attitude to systematically smash the listener, drop him into abyssal caves and torture him in a sophisticated, yet standard way. Guitars work mainly in tremolo section intertwined with rhythmic fragments. It's very reminiscent of the reunion of Massacre, Death, Morbid Angel and a bit of Gorguts' debut before those got very technical. The emerging solos are excellent, you can hear in them a clear acquaintance with the intruments. The bass very much boosts the dynamics of the sound, but where appropriate, it also marks the lower registers deepening the weight of the slowdowns. The arrangement lines of the drums fit the music perfectly. Above all, the work of this instrument does not impose more playing than needed, without unnecessary domination over the other instruments. Vocals are low growls, which occasionally turn into screams. Delightfulness!
I'm impatiently waiting for the next step of Americans and I hope that it will come soon. The hunger left by "Human Scourge" is gigantic and MUTATED should get their asses in gear and record another flavorful, deadly mutations.
