W tym roku ekipie zza naszej południowej granicy stuknęło 20 lat istnienia. Czesi może jakoś specjalnie ilością wydawnictw nie powalają, ale trzeba przyznać, że w Brutal Death Metal potrafią. Czwarty album "Code: Violence" to solidny kawał muzy, ale o tym już poniżej. Zapraszam na spotkanie z lawiną przemocy.
Dziesieć utworów jakie otrzymaliśmy na "Code: Violence" to brutalnie grzanie z dużym naciskiem na technikę. Analizując muzykę Czechów, wydaje mi się, że każdy z utworów jaki został zawarty na 'czwórce' mógłby sobie istnieć również spokojnie osobno na innym wydawnictwie. Nie jest to absolutnie nic złego i w moim przekonaniu świadczy o uniwersalności poszczególnych kompozycji. CUTTERRED FLESH zdecydowanie nie przebiera w środkach i najlepiej sprawdza się na najwyższych obrotach, ale średnie tempa przy podbiciu podwójnych centralek łamią kości równie skutecznie. Nie ma co tu wiele ściemniać, że tego typu Death Metal trzeba po prostu lubić. Zawrotna technika, obłąkane szybkości i częste zmiany tempa powodują, że materiał na bank nie jest łatwy w odbiorze. Gdy do tego dodamy partie gitar i basu nawiązujące do jazzowych wstawek, tworzy się coś zupełnie ciężkiego do objęcia myślą. Jednakże uważam, że te eksperymenty są jak najbardziej na miejscu a ich symbioza z całokształtem materii muzycznej jest wręcz konieczna. Czesi polecieli dość ostro po bandzie z "Code: Violence", jednak nie jest to tak, że otrzymamy wyłącznie silnie naszpikowaną awangardą płytę, nie. Sporo tu ciężaru, technicznie są jak najbardziej nawiązania do holenderskiej szkoły i nie wiem czemu ale słyszę tu echa Pyaemia czy momentami nawet Severe Torture. Zaznaczam, tylko echa / nawiązania. Wokalnie mamy tu growle wymieszane z krzykami, efekt bardzo się zazębia. Cholernie moją uwagę przykuły partie basu, które sa bardzo wyraźnie słyszalne i ich technika wgniata w ziemię! Perkusja nie ustępuje także, a aranżacje są naprawdę doskonałe. O dziwo, sporo tu melodyjnych partii tremolo, które nieco ujmują brutalności z całości "Code: Violence", ale nie można też powiedzieć by ten element był drażniący lub nietrafiony. Nic z tych rzeczy! Dobra, przyznam się do czegoś - riff otwierający "All Beauty of Nuclear Winter" mnie wkurwia, haha! Ale to jedyny niuans obok którego można przejść na spokojnie.

This year the band from behind our southern border turned 20 years old. Czechs maybe don't especially impress with the number of releases, but you have to admit that they are good at Brutal Death Metal. Their fourth album "Code: Violence" is a solid piece of music, but more on that below. Welcome to the meeting with the avalanche of violence.
Ten tracks that we got on "Code: Violence" are brutally thundering with big emphasis on technique. Analyzing Czechs' music, I think that each of the tracks included on 'Code: Violence' could easily exist separately on another release. It's absolutely nothing wrong with it and in my opinion it proves universality of particular compositions. CUTTERRED FLESH definitely doesn't disregard the means and works best at the highest speeds, but the medium tempos with the double drum-kicks break the bones just as effectively. There's no need to say that you have to like this kind of Death Metal. The intricate technique, maddening speed and frequent tempo changes make the material not easy to listen to. When you add to this the guitar and bass parts alluding to jazz interludes, it creates something quite hard to grasp with thought. However, I think that these experiments are very appropriate and their symbiosis with the whole musical matter is even necessary. Czechs went pretty hard with "Code: Violence", but it's not like we're going to get an album heavily filled with avant-garde, no. There's a lot of weight here, technically there are references to the Dutch school and I don't know why but I hear here echoes of Pyaemia or even Severe Torture at times. I mean, only echoes / references. Vocally we have here growls mixed with screams, the effect interlocks a lot. My damn attention has been caught by the bass parts, which are very clearly audible and their technique is really smashing! The drums don't fail either, and the arrangements are really excellent. Surprisingly, there are a lot of melodic guitar tremolo parts, which take away some of the brutality from the whole "Code: Violence", but you can't say that this element is irritating or misguided either. Nothing like that! Okay, I'll admit something - the opening riff of "All Beauty of Nuclear Winter" pisses me off, haha! But that's the only nuance you can pass by calmly.
Ok, so yes - all hungry for brutality locked in an unbalanced technique - reach for CUTTERRED FLESH from Czech Republic! These guys really don't fuck around with their music!
