Po kilku latach milczenia powróciła bestia. Może jakoś specjalnie nie byłem fanem trzeciego albumu poprzedzającego opisywaną EPkę, ale trzeba sobie powiedzieć, że był to bardzo solidny i spójny album. Pozostawmy jednak kwestię mojego indywidualne gustu względem tamtego wydawnictwa na rzecz skupienia się na najnowszym bękarcie. Zapraszam na kilka spostrzeżeń dotyczących "In Agelessness".
Nie ukrywam, że tak jak demo i dwa pierwsze albumy wchodziły mi absolutnie bez popity, tak z 'trójeczką' miałem mały problem. Gdzieś przyświecała mi myśl, że muzyka z jaką obcuję jest jak już wspomniałem solidna, ale coś mi nie do końca pasowało w finalnym miksie. Prawdopodobnie była to wina dość mocno ztriggerowanej perkusji, która została wtedy wysunięta na przody. Ale dobra, zostawmy ten temat, bo uczepiłem się go jak ostatnia menda. "In Agelessness" pomimo bycia EPką oferuje aż sześć utworów zamykających się niemal w 25 minutach. Death Metal z jakim przyjdzie nam się tu zmierzyć jest cholernie intensywny, ale z drugiej strony również brzmieniowo mocno sterylny. W większości przypadków byłby to dla mnie spory minus, ponieważ lubię duszność i nieco chaosu w klasycznym graniu o jaki ociera się HELLSPAWN. Mimo tego, przyznaję, że EPka robi mi nader dobrze. Death Metal jaki serwuje nam horda jest przesiąknięty bluźnierstwem, a te z kolei, czuć w każdym z utworów. Wydaje mi się, iż taki zabieg nie jest łatwy do osiągnięcia, chyba że ktoś faktycznie czuje dźwięki jakie tworzy. Ta czwórka wyjadaczy stworzyła materiał miażdżący, i powtórzę się, pomimo sterylizacji brzmienia. Znajdziemy tu echa choćby holenderskiego Centurian (w szczególności blastujące partie), a porównując chłopaków do większych klasyków, nie mogę wyzbyć się wrażenia, że przebija tu spora dawka Morbid Angel. Partie gitar są mocno nastawione na dynamikę, rytmiczne riffy wychodzą nader dobrze, a rzygania jadem w katolskie wartości nie braknie też i w sekcjach tremolo. Pojawiają się nieszablonowe zagrania pozbawione przesterów, zwolnienia i świetne partie solowe. Całość w ryzach trzyma bas, który mocno wdziera się niską wibracją w utwory. Kolejna sprawa to perkusja. Owszem, podobnie jak w przypadku "There Has Never Been a Son of Me", mamy do czynienia z mocnym triggerem, ale na szczęście partie nie są aż tak bardzo z przodu, dzięki czemu nie mamy uciążliwego efektu terkotu podwójnej stopy, która by zagłuszała resztę instrumentów. Na koniec został wokal i tu nie ma zmian - solidne growle czasem zapuszczające się w quasi czyste wokale są po prostu na miejscu. Pojawiają się natomiast ponownie wtrącone sample, od czasu do czasu. Dobrze się sprawdzają, zmieniają atmosferę muzyki i nadają jej szerszego spektrum.
Wg mnie materiał wielce udany. Solidny kawał Death Metalu, który poza tym że zmiażdży słuchacza, to jeszcze przyciągnie uwagę kilkoma smaczkami bez przekombinowania. Polecam się zaopatrzyć w krążek, warto!

After a few years of silence the beast returned. Maybe I wasn't particularly fond of the third album preceding the EP in hand, but it has to be said that it was a very solid and fibrous album. However, let's leave the question of my individual taste in that release and focus on the latest bastard. I invite you to share some insights regarding "In Agelessness".
I must admit that just as the demo and the first two albums went absolutely straight into my head, I had a bit of a problem with the third one. Somewhere I had an idea that the music I'm dealing with is, as I said, solid, but something didn't quite fit me in the final mix. It was probably the fault of the rather heavily triggered drums that were then brought to the forefront. But okay, let's leave this topic, because I clung to it like a last mole. "In Agelessness", despite being an EP, offers six tracks closing in almost 25 minutes. Death Metal we'll have to deal with here is damn intense, but on the other hand it's also sonically sterile. In most cases it would be a big minus for me, because I like stuffiness and a bit of chaos in classical playing of the style, which HELLSPAWN rubs against. Despite this, I admit that the EP does me a lot of good. Death Metal that the horde serves us is permeated with blasphemy, and this, in turn, can be felt in every track. It seems to me that such a treatment is not easy to achieve, unless someone really feels the sounds they create. These four veterans have created a crushing material, and I repeat, despite the sterilization of sound.We can find here echoes of Dutch Centurian or compatriots of Azarath (especially blasting parts), and comparing the guys to the bigger classics, I can't get rid of the impression that there's a large dose of Morbid Angel in here. Guitar parts are strongly focused on dynamics, rhythmic riffs come out very well, and puking venom onto catholic values is not missing also in tremolo sections. There appear unconventional plays without distortions, slowdowns and great solo parts. The whole is held in check by the bass, which strongly penetrates the songs with its low vibration. Another issue is the drums. Yes, as in the case of "There Has Never Been a Son of Me", we are dealing with a strong trigger, but fortunately the parts are not so much in front, so we do not have a burdensome effect of a double-foot terk, which would drown out the rest of the instruments. At the end we have the vocals and there are no changes here - solid growls sometimes venturing into quasi-clean vocals are simply spot on. There are, however, interjected samples again, from time to time. They work well, changing the atmosphere of the music and giving it a broader spectrum.
In my opinion the material is very successful. A solid piece of Death Metal, which will crush the listener, but also attract attention with a few flavours without overdoing it. I recommend to get the CD, it's worth it!
