Dzisiaj od rana w odtwarzaczu CD zakręcił się kolejny cios ze strony Putrid Cult. Cios ten jest bardzo konkretny i doskonale wciąga dźwiękami od początku do końca. Krążek, który już kolejny raz włączam, to drugi materiał ostrołęckiego zespołu SZARY WILK. Patrząc na okładkę i logo kapeli, nie trudno domyślić się, że grają black metal. Jest to dość świeży twór, gdyż narodził się w 2018 roku i w tym samym czasie wydał debiutanckie demo. W tym roku przyszedł czas na pełniaka. Skład zespołu tworzy trzech muzyków: Żniwiarz, Piastyr i Czuły. Nie znalazłem informacji, czy muzycy się udzielą w innych formacjach, ale warsztat mają na dobrym poziomie, więc całkiem możliwe, że przewinęli się już w innych projektach.
Wrath to album, na którym znalazło się pięć utworów, trwających łącznie niemal trzydzieści trzy minuty. Muzyka rozpoczyna się dość delikatnie, by stopniowo zwiększać poziom dynamiki i ciężaru, a co za tym idzie, również melodii. Może i nie jest to nic odkrywczego, bowiem materia muzyczna mocno czerpie garściami ze skandynawskiego black metalu z lat dziewięćdziesiątych, ale jednocześnie jest to na tyle oryginalne dzieło, że przyciąga uwagę słuchacza. Moim zdaniem, wcale nie trzeba tworzyć nowych riffów w tym gatunku, skoro na znanych patentach sprzed lat można stworzyć tak ciekawy materiał. Muzyka skomponowana na ten album jest prosta i bez udziwnień, przez co tak naturalnie wchodzi w krwioobieg, a melodia chwyta słuchacza za gardło dłonią uzbrojoną w ostre pazury i przeciąga przez wszystkie kawałki, jakby to był jeden utwór. Do tego dochodzi brak odczuwalności płynącego czasu, przez co w ciągu dnia można wiele razy odsłuchać płytę i nadal będzie mało. Gitary tworzą harmonijne, rytmiczne akordy, mocno ciągnące do dołu, a sekcja tremolo wydobywa oryginalne melodie, grane w nieco wyższych tonacjach. Pojawiają się również solówki mocno uwydatniające melodię zawartą w riffach. Bas sprawia, że całość aż faluje swoją głębią. Perkusja często narzuca agresję, której nie da się zatrzymać. Pojawiają się ciekawe przejścia na bębnach, a w szybszych partiach aż noga sama wybija w rytm uderzeń. Bardzo dobrze wyszedł też wokal, który brzmi jakby był opętany przez jakiegoś nie świętego ducha, wylewając z siebie hektolitry agresji, jadu i nienawiści, a jednocześnie doskonale niosący melodię, w tym jakże surowym wykonaniu. Co do tej płyty - to utwierdziła mnie ona w przekonaniu, że kolejny materiał SZAREGO WILKA śmiało mogę kupić w ciemno, bo kreują muzykę, którą lubię i która nie uleci ze mnie nigdy.

Today from the morning another strike from Putrid Cult spun in the CD player. I'm talking about a very strong one, which is very absorbing from the beginning till the end. The album, which I turn on once again, is the second material of SZARY WILK band from Ostroleka. Looking at the cover and band's logo, it's not hard to guess that they play black metal. It is quite a fresh creation, as it was born in 2018 and released its debut demo at the same time. This year, the time has come for a full-length. The lineup of the band consists of three musicians: Reaper, Piastyr and Tender. I haven't found any information whether the musicians are involved in other bands, but their skills are at a good level, so it's quite possible that they have already played in other projects.
Wrath is an album that contains five tracks, lasting a total of almost thirty-three minutes. The music starts quite gently to gradually increase the level of dynamics and heaviness, and thus also the melody. Maybe it's nothing new, because the music matter draws heavily from the Scandinavian black metal from the nineties, but at the same time it's an original piece of work, so much so that it attracts the attention of the listener. In my opinion, there is no need to create new riffs in this genre, if you can create such an interesting material on the basis of known patents from years ago. Music composed for this album is simple and without fiddling, which makes it enter the bloodstream so naturally, and the melody grabs the listener by the throat with a hand armed with sharp claws and drags through all the pieces as if it was one song. Added to this is the lack of feeling of time passing, making it possible to listen to the album many times in a day and it still won't be enough. The guitars create harmonious, rhythmic chords, pulling strongly downwards, while the tremolo section brings out original melodies, played in slightly higher keys. There are also solos which strongly emphasize the melody contained in the riffs. The bass makes the whole thing wavy with its depth. The drums often impose aggression, which cannot be stopped. There are interesting transitions on this instrument as well. Very effective is the vocal, which sounds as if it was possessed by some unholy spirit, pouring out hectoliters of aggression, venom and hatred, and at the same time perfectly carrying the melody, in this very raw performance. As for this album - it confirmed me in the belief that the next material of SZARY WILK I can confidently buy in the dark, because they create music that I like and which will never escape me.
